I am a passionate advocate of evidence-based dentistry. I believe that teeth should be for life and aim to assist my patients in achieving their oral health goals. I hold an MSc with Distinction in Advanced General Dental Practice from the University of Birmingham, and a Membership in Primary Dental Care from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. I have also completed a year-long course in implant dentistry.
The digital world is changing how we practise dentistry and I have a particular interest in digital restorative dentistry in the management of tooth wear. I look forward to bringing these skills and technology to the practice to enhance the care we are able to provide. My interests also include the management of dental anxiety using conscious sedation techniques and oral surgery including implant dentistry. I welcome new patients and referrals from colleagues for such cases.
I am actively involved with teaching new graduates about restorative dentistry by delivering hands-on courses via NHS Education for Scotland. I am also a dental advisor for Taylor Defence Services and serve as secretary of the West of Scotland branch of the Faculty of General Dental Practice.
Outside of dentistry, I do occasionally find time to relax! In my spare time, I enjoy regular visits to the gym and running.
I look forward to welcoming you to our practice.
I am very enthusiastic about bringing new technologies into the dental surgery to help patients achieve their goals in the most minimally invasive, predictable way. I am very interested in digital dentistry as well as aesthetic dentistry, sedation, orthodontics and the placement of dental implants. Outside of dentistry, I enjoy keeping fit and going to the football.
I look forward to welcoming you to Greygables.
His main clinical interest is endodontics, and he is in the final year of his Masters in Endodontology. He is also interested in digital restorative dentistry and believes in utilising technology to improve dental care.
Throughout this 25 year career, he has been committed to post-graduate dental education, both in the diplomas and qualifications that he has obtained and on the courses that he teaches. He believes that embracing technology and constantly learning new skills are the essential keys to succeeding in dental practice and is looking forward to bringing these skills to Greygables Dental.
He believes in continuous education and development and is due to attain a Diploma in Endodontics from SimplyEndo and the Universith of Chester in the coming weeks. He also plans to enrol in an Advanced Restorative Masters program in 2023.
Outside of dentistry, Ciaran likes the idea of being a single-digit handicap golfer, but definitely doesn’t practise enough.
