What is digital dentistry?

Digital dentistry is a broad term describing a range of advanced technologies that make treatment better in every aspect – from diagnosis through to aftercare. At Greygables Dental, we’re proud to be one of Scotland’s leading digital dental practices and continually invest in new technologies to improve patient experience and treatment outcomes.

We’ve invested in multiple intra – oral scanners, which enable us to take digital dental impressions, view simulations of how your smile will look after treatment, and communicate quickly and efficiently with dental labs. Whether you’re having Invisalign or a crown, implants or teeth whitening, digital dentistry is guaranteed to enhance your experience at Greygables Dental.

Our CBCT machine give us the ability to take precise 3D x-rays of patients. This advanced imaging technology allows us to plan dental implant treatments, diagnose problems related to wisdom teeth and assess important areas of anatomy such as the position important nerves and oral structures. These images can also help in the planning of complex root canal treatments. Being one of the few dental practice to be equipped with a CBCT machine means we are able to take referrals from other dental practice and colleagues to see and treat their patients for advanced imaging.

Our in-house milling unit means we can produce same – day ceramic restorations such as crowns, bridges and onlays. In the past, patients would be provided with temporary restorations whilst a dental lab fabricated their final restoration, which would be fitted some weeks later. Now, we can provide these highly accurate, strong, and aesthetic restorations in a single visit. We have found our patients love the ease in which these restorations can be provided and we believe this also far improves treatment outcomes and reduces complications.
